1. Register on-line: If possible, we encourage you to register on-line, utilizing your Visa or MasterCard by CLICKING HERE. Following registration, be sure to submit a photo to the registrar via email.
2. Register in person: For Fall 2009, there is one date to register in person, which is Sunday, July 25th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex stadium. Please bring a check made out to "GMSA", or exact cash. We CANNOT take credit cards at in-person registration. Player card photos will be taken at in-person registration for all players that need one.
3. Register by mail: If you cannot register on-line or in person, please follow these instructions to register by mail:
A. Print a copy of the TSSA AMATEUR PLAYER REGISTRATION FORM. (Available on the "Download Forms" page.) If you are unable to print a copy, please contact the registrar to make arrangements to get one. The form is in Microsoft Word format. NOTE: Be sure to set your top, bottom, left, and right page margins to ZERO (or whatever your printer's lowest available settings are) before you print these forms. Otherwise, the forms may not print properly.
B. COMPLETE the form. This includes all demographic information (name, address, phone number, birthday, etc.), as well as the player's signature on the Legal Waiver portion of the form. If any of these items are missing, the form cannot (and will not) be processed.
C. We must have a PHOTO of the player for his/her ID card...if one is not already on file from previous seasons, then a photo must be submitted with the add form. The photo must be a COLOR photo of the player from the chest up. The head of the player needs to be at least the size of a nickel. There can be other people in the photo if the player can be electronically removed. We strongly prefer that you submit your photo as a DIGITAL photo in .jpg format, meeting all of the other above criteria; it should be e-mailed to the registrar at: photos@memphissoccer.com. (NOTE: This is a new email address from previous years, exclusively for player card photos.) Be sure to have your FULL NAME and TEAM NAME(S) included in the body of the email.
If you need to mail a photo, label it on the back with the player's name and team. If the form arrives without a satisfactory photo (as judged by the registrar), then it will not be processed. All photos, digital or otherwise, must meet the requirements mentioned above, and should measure at least 200 pixels high (width is not as important). If a digital photo is not available, then an actual photograph must be included with the mailed-in form and payment. All photos become property of GMSA.
D. You must include a CHECK made out to "GMSA". Include the team name on the check (and the name of the player being registered, if the check is written by someone other than the player). Make sure the check is made out for the correct amount (see top of this page for this season's rates.) If you are unsure of the correct amount that should be paid, please consult with the registrar first before processing the information, to ensure that the check is made out properly.
E. SENDING/RECEIVING THE PAPERWORK: GMSA has a Post Office Box for handling player registration...if you are not registering on-line, then all registration activities will be conducted via the U.S. mail. This will be our official mailing address for all paperwork in-season. The player (or coach) must complete the appropriate paperwork as described above (forms, checks, photos, etc.), and mail to the following address:
Greater Memphis Soccer Association
Attention: Player Adds
PO Box 382577
Germantown, Tennessee 38138
If you have any questions, please contact the registrar at: GMSAreg@comcast.net
All pre-season registration must be received by Monday, August 9th at 11:59 pm. For in-season registration, the P.O. Box will be checked each WEDNESDAY after 6:00 p.m. (beginning August 26th for in-season adds). All forms received (either on-line or via mail) by 6:00 p.m. each Wednesday will be processed, and a player card will be produced. Our registrar's report will show a list of weekly cut-off dates, and which players were registered/approved to play each week. The registrar will place all completed player cards in the GMSA Card Pick-Up Box (across from the restrooms near fields 4 & 6 at Mike Rose) each Friday afternoon. Cards may be picked up anytime that the complex is open after 5:00 on Friday.
The registrar has the final say on what is and is not acceptable, and will not submit incomplete forms to the state office. If there are any problems with a form, the registrar will contact the player and/or coach in question. Forms will be processed as described above. GMSA supports all decisions made by the registrar.
NOTE: The $75 field rental portion of the fee that goes to the Mike Rose Complex is a one-time fee for that season. If you are playing in another league (NASL Over-30, etc.), and have already paid your MRSC field fee to GMSA, you can subtract $75 from the total that you pay to your other league. The field fee is a one-time fee for each season, regardless of how many leagues in which you play. This should only be a factor with players added during the season...since GMSA holds its registration prior to that of other leagues, it should not be an issue during pre-season registration.
